Keeping busy before surgery by making “stuff”

I already posted in the forums, but Barret is having surgery tonight. If I get the call after midnight tonight, Erica’s tripawd kitty Jill and Barret will share the 12th and can celebrate together each month!

To keep my mind off of… everything… I’ve been doing a lot of crafty things and computer art. I don’t think I shared this yet, but I started out in my career as a graphic designer. I quickly moved on to web development, then internet marketing (jack of all trades, master of none), but it is nice to be able to fall back on some of those early skills from time to time.

I saw some canvas art at HomeGoods the other week that had a graphic dog cut out and a cute quote. When I see things like that I immediately say “I can do that!” and usually never get around to it (I have a folder of images on my computer of crafty/art ideas I someday want to get to try).  Anyways, to keep busy over the last few evenings I took some of my favorite pictures of my boys and girl and went to town.

This is a much longer introduction than it needs to be… So what do you think? I was thinking about printing them on canvas and hanging them in my newly finished basement. Does this say “CRAZY DOG LADY LIVE HERE, BEWARE” or is it cute?

hug the dog

Gatsby was my model here.. Can’t seem to find a picture of him where he doesn’t look at least a little sad, like he needs a hug!

all you need is love and a dog

I love this quote. Barret is never happier than when he has his red ball 🙂

life is better with dogs

My baby girl Sara (aka Lil Sissy), the easiest to illustrate. I love her shaggy hair!

As marketing professional in the pet supplies trade for over 6 years and a pawrent of 3 dogs and 2 cats, I’ve gained a plethora of pet-related experience ripe for the picking, though I am new to tripawd pawrenting. My goal is to share my story and the knowledge I’ve gained with the pet pawrents everywhere. You can also find me on That Pet Blog or .
